SINGAPORE PAINCARE CENTERS
The two centres specialise in pain treatment and rehabilitation, providing a one-stop solution for those looking to stay active and live well. Treatments emphasize Minimally Invasive Procedures that avoid open surgery and long-term painkiller use.
Led by Dr Bernard Lee Mun Kam, Singapore Paincare Center specialises in managing chronic and acute pain. Our team of highly trained specialist pain doctors, surgeons, and physiotherapists work together to alleviate pain, restore function, reduce limitations to daily activity, and improve your quality of life.
What Are Our Core Beliefs About Pain
Many patients continue to live with pain because of the misconception that pain is a natural symptom of age. Even more believe that surgery is the only remaining treatment option after trying topical gels, painkillers, and other traditional treatments that have not provided long term relief.
At Singapore Paincare Center, we believe pain should not dictate your life; you can grow old without pain. We are here to stop chronic aches and pain, and as much as possible, avoiding painkillers and surgery.
What Are Our Services
We focus on non-surgical way to resolve difficult pains. Our services include:
- Specialised Injections and Minimally Invasive Procedures
- Pharmacotherapy
- Physical Rehabilitation Programme
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Cancer Pain Treatment
Many of our Specialised injections and Minimally Invasive Procedures are one-off treatments without any significant down-time or risk. There is no need for repeat treatment to maintain good pain relief.
To achieve patient’s long term well-being and to modify degeneration, we also offer a range of supportive services from pain screening, home rehabilitation, physiotherapy, TCM to wellness programmes.
How Do We Treat Pain
As pain is unique to each individual, we place emphasis on curating an individualised treatment plan based on a multi-dimensional diagnostic assessment. Patient’s treatment plan may range from short term pain relief to long term pain resolution including the removal of the pain generator either via minimally invasive procedure (specialised injection) or surgery where needed. Often, obvious investigative findings may not be the cause of the persistent pain. Conversely, Xray or MRI findings may appear frustratingly normal despite the feeling of chronic pain, causing everyone to be perplexed.
Hence our proprietary understanding of pain and the interplay of different pain pathways is critical as this allow us to accurately diagnose and stop difficult and complicated pain conditions instead of just fixing what is “broken”.
Patients are prognosticated based on the severity of their underlying condition as well as their pain intensity, to give them the best options of treatment. In certain patients, minimally invasive injections may not be the best treatment for their pain conditions, despite the patient’s predilection.
Patients will be asked to participate in the joint decision-making regarding treatment of their pain condition. They will receive education regarding their condition and opportunities to ask questions.

What are Minimally Invasive Procedures (MIPs) and how does it help you with your pain conditions?
At Singapore Paincare, we are able to offer Minimally Invasive Procedures (MIPs) to our patients as an alternative to surgical and conservative therapy because of our specialised knowledge and expertise in this area. MIPs are advanced treatment techniques designed to treat and relieve pain using specialised injections targeted to reduce inflammation, restore mobility and help our patients recover faster with minimal downtime.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma Prolotherapy (PRP) and how does it help you with your pain conditions?
During the procedure, a small amount of your blood is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets (the part of your blood rich in growth factors and healing proteins). This platelet-rich solution is then injected into the injured or painful area (such as a joint, tendon, or ligament) to:
- Stimulate tissue repair and regeneration
- Reduce inflammation
- Accelerate healing
- Improve joint function and mobility
At Singapore Paincare Center, PRP therapy is commonly used to treat knee pain, shoulder injuries, tendon or ligament strain, and joint degeneration. It’s a minimally invasive, safe option that supports your body’s natural recovery process, offering long-lasting pain relief.
Is the treatment safe?
Our Myospan minimally invasive treatments Coreflex injections, Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are generally safe for all. For PRP, as the injection is taken from patient’s own blood made up of your own cells and plasma, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low.
Neurospan minimally invasive procedures are conducted as day surgery procedure at an accredited hospital, with a low risk profile and is associated with minimal downtime with swift recovery. These treatments are usually one-off procedures without risk or complications to the patient.
How long does this treatment takes? What is the downtime?
Treatment time varies by condition and procedure. Consultations with our specialist typically last 15-30 minutes. For minimally invasive treatments Coreflex injections and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) procedures, it can take 30 minutes to an hour when done within our clinics in Singapore Paincare Centers Paragon and Novena. For spinal nerve treatments, it is a day surgery procedure at our accredited hospitals, and you can return home the same day after observation.
Our treatments have little to no downtime, allowing patients to resume most daily activities the next day.
How may sessions are required?
Many of our specialised injections and minimally invasive procedures are one-off treatments with most patients experiencing significant and long-lasting relief. There is no need for repeat treatment to maintain good pain relief. However, the duration of pain relief can vary among individuals. While the effect may be permanent in most patients, some may need repeated treatment, depending on your specific condition and how your body responds to treatment.
On average, the effect may last anywhere from several months to over a year. For coreflex, the injections may be repeated every four months, with a maximum of three injections per year.
How soon will I be able to see result?
Pain relief effect starts immediately after treatment due to local anaesthetic. Some pain may come back in the next 1-2 days when local anaesthetic wears off but patient should feel lesser pain than before. Pain relief results will be most noticeable starting from 1st week to 3rd week after treatment.
What is to be expected in my first consultation with the doctor?
During your first visit/ consultation, our pain specialist will:
- Review your medical history and symptoms
- Conduct a bedside physical examination
- Order any necessary diagnostic imaging or scans
- Explain your pain diagnosis and treatment options
- Develop a personalised treatment plan suited to your condition
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the best way forward for treating your pain.
What modes of payment do you accept?
What are the charges for the minimally invasive procedures?
