CARDIOLOGY

Dr. See Jia Hao Jason
Dr See is a doctor with more than 15 years of experience. His area of subspecialty is in multi-modality imaging and he has board certifications in echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography and nuclear cardiology.
He was a Senior Consultant Cardiologist prior to entering private practice. His area of subspecialty is in multi-modality imaging and he has board certifications in echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography and nuclear cardiology. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2005 and obtained his Royal College of Physicians (UK) membership in 2010. He continued to train in Cardiology at Changi General Hospital (CGH) and National Heart Centre Singapore and obtained his specialist accreditation in Cardiology in 2014. He was subsequently awarded the Human Manpower Development Program scholarship to pursue fellowship training in advanced cardiac imaging at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, United Kingdom from 2016 to 2017. Dr See believes in holistic patient care and has a keen interest in preventive cardiology and public health. He is an advocate for exercise and smoking cessation, having completed the Exercise Prescription Course for Primary Care Physicians and is also a Certified Cardiac Rehab Practitioner. On the academic front, Dr See was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of both Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine as well as Duke-NUS Medical School. He has published in multiple journals and presented in numerous conferences. He is an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and continues to teach medical ethics as a Teaching Faculty with the Singapore Medical Association Centre for Medical Ethics and Professionalism.

EAR NOSE & THROAT SURGEON

Dr. Leong Jern-Lin
He is internationally recognized for his surgical expertise and academic contribution to the field Nasal Allergy, Rhinology and Nasopharyngeal Cancer (NPC) screening using the Narrow Band Imaging.
Dr Leong obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 1993. He completed his Fellowship examinations in Otolaryngology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2001.
In 2004, Dr Leong received the SingHealth Health Manpower Development Programme award from the Ministry of Health to be trained in Rhinology and Allergy. He was accepted into this prestigious one-year hands-on fellowship programme at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Educational Foundation, USA. The fellowship director was Professor Martin J. Citardi, and Co-Director Professor Pete Batra, both of whom are international authorities in Rhinology. Professor Citardi is Ocurrently the chairman of the department of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck surgery, University of Texas Medical School at Houston, USA.
Since his return to the Singapore General Hospital in 2005, Dr Leong has pioneered the usage of Image-guided surgery in ENT) especially in functional endoscopic sinus surgeries (FESS) and minimally invasive endoscopic surgeries of sinonasal and skull base tumours. He was in the evaluation committee for the setting up of the Khoo Teck Puat Neuro-Navigation Integrated Operating Suites.
He was awarded the Fellowship of the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) in 2007. The ARS is the premier physician organization whose mission focuses upon the medical and surgical treatment of patients with diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses.
He is one of only a handful of ENT doctors that are specially trained in both medical and surgical treatments of nasal conditions ranging from allergy to sinusitis in both children and adults. He is also specialized in performing revision endoscopic sinus surgery in patients that had failed previous nasal surgeries.
He is also a pioneer in Sublingual immunotherapy in Singapore which is offered mostly to the Paediatric ENT population. Dr Leong is visiting consultant in the Department of Otolaryngology, Singapore General Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Over the years in these two hospitals, he has acquired special interest in both adult and Paediatric ENT conditions including tonsils, adenoids, ears, thyroid, throat, salivary glands and sleep conditions.
Dr Leong also directs internationally acclaimed courses that teach ENT Allergy including food allergy, asthma and eczema and their impact on all ENT diseases.
He is the Director of SARC (Singapore Allergy & Rhinology Conference) for the past 11 years: this is one of the largest Singapore ENT meetings.
NEUROLOGY

Dr. Queck Kian Kheng
Dr Queck has won numerous awards during his training and service in SGH and SKH and several Singapore Health Service Awards.
Whilst at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Dr Queck was involved in hyperacute stroke treatment, which included intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular therapy. He was also involved in service development and improvement, serving on the SGH and SKH stroke electronic clinical pathway and SGH Intensive Care Unit (ICU) committees. He has published on cultural issues impacting stroke assessment tools. He was also the principal investigator on a study on cardiac shunting in young stroke patients.
Dr Queck has won numerous awards during his training and service in SGH and SKH, including the Outstanding Resident Award and Best Resident Award. He also received several Singapore Health Service Awards for service quality.
Dr Queck is currently the medical director and consultant neurologist of KK Queck Neurology Centre Pte Ltd since November 2019.

NEUROSURGERY

Dr. Timothy Lee
MBBS (1981) • NUS (1987) • Oxford (1987 – 1990) • NUH (1990 – 2002)
He formed and headed the Division of Neurosurgery at the National University Hospital (NUH). Dr Timothy Lee was the Head of Neurosurgical Division, National University Hospital from 1990-2002 and was professor at the National University of Singapore for many years. He was Senior Visiting Consultant at John Hopkins Hospital (Singapore), a branch of the John Hopkins Hospital in the U.S.A. which specializes in cancer treatment.
He has published more than 100 journal and conference papers. The journal papers were mostly in international journals, including a first author publication in Lancet, one of the top medical journals in the world. He was a member of International Advisory Panel for World Congress of Minimal Invasive Neurosurgery.
He is an active committee member of the International College of Surgeons and has held positions such as Secretary and Treasurer in the Singapore branch. He is currently governor of the International College of Surgeons (World), U.S.A. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal, International Surgery. He has been invited to operate in Indonesia (Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), China (Shanghai) and New Zealand (Christchurch). He has organized several workshops for training of younger neurosurgeons and received the “Star Award” and “Lend a Helping Hand Award” from NUH.
OPHTHALMOLOGY

Dr. Desmond Quek
Dr Desmond Quek is a Senior Consultant eye surgeon and Director of Glaucoma Services at Eagle Eye Centre. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, refractive errors (myopia, astigmatism, presbyopia), as well as general ophthalmological conditions such as diabetic eye disease, age related macular degeneration, and dry eyes.
Prior to joining Eagle Eye Centre, Dr Quek held numerous leadership positions at SNEC including Chief Resident, Chief Registrar, and was Director of Medical Informatics, Chair of IT Committee and Director of Strategy and Resource Management. He was also actively involved in research as Principal Investigator in multiple research trials, including the association of obstructive sleep apnoea with glaucoma, the Asia tube-vs-trabeculectomy surgical trial, and the delivery of sustained-release eye pressure lowering medication via a microstent injection. He is the first-author of numerous scientific journal articles, and has given multiple research presentations at international eye conferences.
His current clinical interests are mainly in glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery. These include laser treatment for eye pressure control, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), trabeculectomy and tube shunt surgeries, phacoemulsification and femtosecond laser cataract surgery, implantation of multifocal and toric lenses for the correction of myopia, presbyopia and astigmatism, and LASIK.
Dr Quek believes in good work-life balance. Despite his hectic schedule he finds time to swim and gym regularly and indulges selectively in hawker food. Fluent in English, Mandarin and Teochew, he is trying to learn conversational Japanese.

Dr. Harold Choi

Dr Harold Choi graduated from the National University of Singapore and obtained his Masters in Medicine (Ophthalmology), and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He was a clinical lecturer at the NUS.
He is trained in general ophthalmology, and has special interests in cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, LASIK and other corrective eye surgery, corneal diseases, inflammatory eye conditions, glaucoma, diabetic retinal disease and age-related macular degeneration. He has received formal accreditation in performing LASIK, toric and multifocal intraocular lens implant surgery, laser for diabetes, retinal vascular diseases and glaucoma, and intravitreal treatments for age-related macular degeneration. He has received grants for research involving screening for angle closure glaucoma, and genetic analysis of extraocular muscle tissue in eye movement disorders and droopy eyelids. His published research includes topics from allergic keratoconjunctivitis, diabetic macular disease, microscopic findings in droopy eyelids, cataract assessment and grading, and angle closure glaucoma. He has spoken at international conferences on topics ranging from squints in children, eye tumours in children, prevention of myopia progression and astigmatism correction with surgery.
He is active in not-for-profit voluntary health service; he was the organizer of public health screening services in conjunction with World Glaucoma and World Diabetes Day. He has travelled to Bangladesh to treat patients who would otherwise not have had access to medical care. He is a strong advocate of preventive medicine, and has performed voluntary eye screening for thousands of patients. He believes that proper eye care starts young, and has given talks to primary school children and medical school undergraduates.
UROLOGY

Dr. Lewis Liew
Dr. Lewis is a Specialist Urologist and accredited Robotic Surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital. His clinical expertise involves the screening and treatment of urological problems, including open and laparoscopic surgery. He is also a gazetted Renal Transplant Surgeon in the MOH Transplant Team.
ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON

Dr. Keith Lee
Dr. Keith Lee is a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon. He is well versed in Trauma surgery and various techniques of minimally invasive fracture fixation. He manages over 2000 injured patients a year.
Dr. Keith completed his medical degree at the National University of Singapore in 2007 and has been in clinical practice since. He did his Orthopaedic surgical residency in the National Healthcare Group and excelled academically, consistently performing at the top of his batch in the Orthopaedic in-training examinations. He successfully obtained his Orthopaedic Surgery fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2017.
After completing his surgical training, Dr. Keith worked in Woodlands Health Campus and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he specialised in Adult Reconstruction surgery as well as Trauma surgery. After leaving for private practice, he was appointed by Woodlands Health Campus as a Clinical Board Resource Person, lending expertise in planning the adult reconstruction surgery service as well as accelerated rehabilitation protocols.
Dr. Keith is active in medical education at various levels. He has previously taught medical students as a Clinical Lecturer with the National University of Singapore School of Medicine, as well as a Core Clinical Tutor with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He taught Orthopaedic residents and also Family Medicine trainees as part of the clinical faculty. He is also a member of AO Trauma and has served as an instructor at several AO courses.
He has presented papers in various international conferences. He was awarded a Best Paper Award at the AO Trauma Asia Pacific Research Congress in Hong Kong in 2012.
